The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level teaching eligibility exam conducted by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). The state-level UPTET examination is held once a year to recruit eligible teachers for the primary (classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (classes 6 to 8) classes at various Government & Government-aided schools across the state. UPTET is the minimum qualification required in Uttar Pradesh for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII.
The exam has been postponed as the question paper is leaked through WhatsApp. The ATS has arrested around 4 people. The paper was leaked on WhatsApp in Prayagraj, Shamli, and Mathura.
Just before starting of the exam, the question paper went viral on WhatsApp. Now the exam will be conducted next month. However, candidates will not have to pay the exam fees again.
