Though summer marks the return of sundresses, shorts, and tank tops in your closet. It even makes skincare essential and challenging at the same time. We look to avoid cold creams and lotions that produce more oil. However, not using products makes skin flaky and dry.
But don’t you worry! We have some simple steps to keep your skin healthier this summer!
1: Follow the CTM process
Skin gets damaged from dust, sun, heat, and dirt, leading to pigmentation and the symptoms of ageing. Therefore, a regular skin care regimen that includes cleansing toning and moisturizing to ensure a natural, intense glow has to be followed.
2: Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera heals and repairs skin cells damaged by excessive exposure to the sun. It acts as a soothing agent. Use aloe vera gel on the face and neck, and aloe vera juice for adequate hydration can be added to a morning routine.
3: Vitamin Rich Food
Addition of vitamins C and E to your diet help repair skin. Since it’s rich in antioxidants, hence will protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Eating watermelons, cucumbers, carrots in summer will be beneficial.
Summer heat at times causes internal inflammation. And it could lead to dizziness! Therefore body needs to be hydrated. Daily consumption of at least two litres of water. Caffeine and alcohol cause dehydration. Hence must be avoided as much as possible in summer.
Glycerin repairs damaged skin cells, applying a thin layer of glycerin on your face before bed every day. Clean in the morning. The look will be hydrated throughout the day with the usage of glycerin.
6: Protect Your Lips
The harmful UV rays damage sensitive lip tissue in summer. Therefore to keep your lips looking fresh and refreshing, apply a rich lip balm labelled with SPF 15 or higher and continue using it daily.
7: Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a miracle oil! It has been Dadi’sDadi’s & Nani’sNani’s favourite. Apply it to problem areas, hands, cuticles, or joints. It leaves skin feeling incredibly soft. Just a few drops & rub on the skin, or add a few tablespoons of coconut oil to your bath!
8: Take A Towel Lightly
Indeed, the towel absorbs very well and is soft on the skin. However, applying it on your skin vigorously can dry out your skin. Instead, heat after bathing. Once it is cooled a little, ointment can be used. This helps to effectively reduce thirst as excess hydration is left on your skin.
9: Use Appropriate Soap
Use of natural soaps or bath gels is recommended for summers. Since perfume soaps can irritate your skin. As it strips off the natural oils of the soap, causing dryness.
10: Take a Steam bath once a week.
Taking a steam bath will help you open your pores. The skin collects dirt and oil during the summer. It is recommended to have a cold shower in summer. It prevents acne & cools down the skin. In addition, before the shower, take an almond oil massage. As almond oil helps retain water in the skin.
11: USe SPF Sunscreen
Sunscreens protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Hence preventing skin from drying out. Sunscreen needs to be bought as per skin type. Since improper installation can lead to more dullness.
12: Hydrating And Moisturizing Facepack
Papaya Facial Pack: Papaya is known as a natural moisturizer measuring the content of the skin. It also has anti-ageing properties. Blend papaya pieces & apply them on the face; placing large amounts of cotton will stop papaya from dripping. Allow it to dry for 15 minutes, then wash it with warm water. Repeat three times a week.
Yoghurt Facial Pack: Yet another adequate remedy, Yoghurt Facial Pack is a great way to treat your dry skin in the summer. Yoghurt helps in retaining moisture and also naturally softens skin. Mix one teaspoon of honey with 2 teaspoons of yoghurt. Apply the mixture and let it dry before washing it with water. Just repeat 2 times a week for a month. And the skin would be supple, soft, and radiant.
