Royal Enfield upcoming 450 cc adventure bike has been spotted testing for the first time. The new Himalayan 450 is built on an all-new platform. According to the reports, this upcoming motorcycle will be completely different from other RE bikes. It includes a new 450 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will generate around 40 Bhp. The latest spy shots reveal the thick upside-down forks of the bike. And are expected to come with at least 200mm of travel.
The bare differentiator 450cc to Himalayan 411 motorcycle is a 21-inch front wheel, and a 17-inch rear wheel can be found. The new Himalayan 450 gets several design changes compared to the existing Himalayan 411. It is expected to be a solid low-end and mid-range torque on the motorcycle. Majorly perfect for off-road riding. The bike’s transmission will likely be a 6-speed gearbox, probably with a slipper and assist clutch, similar to RE 650 twins.
The new Himalayan 450 also changes several designs compared to the existing 411. The face looks sharp, though the round headlight remains intact. Further includes a smaller windscreen, split seats, upside-down mounted exhaust and spoke wheels. Like the typical ADV fashion, the riding ergonomics would be upright and relaxed, with a scooped seat, a tall handlebar, and even centre-set footpegs. The design would be an evolution of the current Himalayan.
The new Himalayan 450 will likely be launched in early 2023. The expected price would be between Rs. 2.7 to Rs. Three lakhs. Once established, the new Himalayan 450 will take on adventure touring motorcycles like the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS. It is not clear whether the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will replace the Himalayan 411 in the market or be sold together.
