In India, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is a street bike that starts at Rs. 2,07,062. Only one version and two colors are available. The Bajaj Dominar 400 has a 373.27cc BS6 engine that produces 39.42 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. Anti-lock braking is available on the Bajaj Dominar 400, which has disc brakes on both the front and back. There is a 13-liter fuel tank on this Dominar 400 motorcycle.

When it comes to the bike’s mechanicals, it now has KTM-style inverted front forks. It also gets a radial calliper for the front braking system as part of this upgrade. A monoshock and a single braking disc remain on the rear axle. All new vehicles come with a dual-channel anti-lock brake system (ABS).

 

Next up is the motor. It’s the same 373.2cc DOHC single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. At 8650rpm, it produces 39.4bhp of maximum power and 35Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm, allowing Bajaj to extract more power from the engine. The bike has a kerb weight of 187 kilograms.

 

This bike competes with Royal Enfield Himalayans, KTM 250 Dukes and Suzuki Gixxers in its price range.

Dominar 400 Review and Ride Experience

Power cruiser motorcycles have been marketed as Bajaj Auto’s flagship model with the Dominar 400. It has a powerful engine, a slick design, and high-quality components at a reasonable price.

 

Introduction

In 2016, the Bajaj Dominar 400 motorcycle was a game changer. Many Indians were able to get their hands on a 400cc motorcycle with a slew of great features and styling thanks to this model. For a price that didn’t seem outlandish. Their “haathi mat paalo” ads were also incomprehensible and did nothing to help Bajaj’s case. In the end, the brand realised that this power cruiser’s major changes were the only way to bring in major sales. Dominar 400 2021 aims to do just that. Big tourers get a lot of upgrades!

 

Look & Feel

The 2021 model of the Dominar has taken things to a whole new level in terms of road presence. There’s no denying that the new Auroral Green paint job by Bajaj is eye-catching. In order to give the bike a younger and more vibrant feel, this color was introduced.. In addition to that, the upside-down forks have improved the overall appearance. In addition, the Dominar has a twin-barrel exhaust system that makes it appear more streamlined. Headlamps have had their size reduced, but mechanically they haven’t changed at all. The pillion seat is given the ‘D’ logo, which is a nice touch.

 

New features have been added to the 2021 Dominar 400. It’s now possible to have DOHC in a 375cc single-cylinder engine. Compared to the previous model, the bike now has 39.5 horsepower, a 5 horsepower increase. However, the available torque is fixed at 35 nm. Engine vibrations, one of the most common complaints about the older Dominar, have been addressed by engineers. Power-to-weight has risen from 190 to 214 bhp/ton while the weight has risen by 2 kilograms.

 

The old telescopic forks have been replaced by 43mm USD forks. They say this was done to improve both comfort and handling. In addition, the side stand has been redesigned to better support the rider’s heavy luggage while on the road. The Dominar now has bungee straps tucked neatly under the seat to make it more tour-friendly. The addition of a small detail, but one that was well thought out.

 

Riding Experience

With a few major upgrades, the Bajaj Dominar 400 has become a more efficient mile-eater. There has been an increase in the bike’s ability to both accelerate and maintain its speed, thanks to the addition of 5bhp. The 100kmph mark can be reached in a matter of seconds with a simple twist of the throttle. At 120-130 kmph, the bike still has a lot of life left in it. The Dominar 400 churn’s comfortable touring abilities are due to its excellent mid-range and linear power delivery. 7000 rpm is all it takes for the bike to reach 120kmph, with a redline of 9500rpm. Until 8000 rpm, there are no noticeable vibrations thanks to the work of the Bajaj engineers. Afterwards, the pegs and the seat feel a little different. There are no sluggish shifts and the throttle is responsive.

 

The new USD front forks and softer monoshock have improved the Dominar’s ride significantly, especially at high speeds. At high speeds, the bike remains calm and composed. The roads leading to Lonavala were some of the worst I’ve ever encountered, but I didn’t feel any discomfort in my saddle or back at the end of the ride. The Dominar’s overall cornering dynamics have gotten a little better. But we’ll go into more detail when we get our hands on the bike for a couple of days.

 

Even so, the front brakes could use some attention. The front requires a lot of lever work to slow the bike down at high speeds. Additionally, the lever doesn’t have a lot of feel to it. The back, on the other hand, is progressive and has a lot of bite. There is no sign of the dual-channel ABS malfunctioning.

Best Engine Oil For Bajaj Dominar 400

The engines oils which we suggest are motul 7100 10w40, if you ride in very hot areas than you can go with motul 7100 10w50, It will cost you around Rs 740/litre
You can also try Liqui Moly 10W40 Street Race fully synthetic oil costs around Rs 900/litre.

Conclusion:- Dominar’s 2022 model has not yet been released in India by Bajaj Automobiles. However, the inclusion of high-cost hardware like USD forks is expected to raise the price. The Dominar will cost Rs 1.83 lakhs if the Pune-based manufacturer raises the price by Rs 20,000. (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s still a good deal, even at this price, for the Dominar. One of the most important aspects of this model is that it is capable of high-speed touring.
